How did you got involved in the marketing world and what your company does that set you apart from your competitors?
I was in the banking and financial services industry and I started doing business development and sales for a social media marketing company. Once I left them, the owner was in a situation where he was looking to bring me on full time to start working with him and it was a great opportunity to make that move at that point in time. I don’t have any formal training in marketing and I’m definitely not the creative component, I have a great team of people that can do that. So my side is more about the relationship with our clients.
What is an ideal client for your firm?
We would like to be able to work with anyone who is interested in our services, especially with clients looking to really either get into a rebrand type of a situation or someone that’s looking to solidify and grow their brand. A lot of our referred work comes from people that have had a brand that has become disjointed over time. It’s kind of lost its way a little bit. Those are the type of clients that we can really be most impactful with in terms of the help that we can provide.
Why is it important for a website to have brand consistency?
You know for us, the way we looked at it is familiarity. There’s a lot of studies out there, someone has to see your content 20 or 30 times before you just immediately recognize it and if it looks different on the website and different on a can of Pepsi for example and then different on a TV commercial you know those things are going to become disjointed. People won’t be able to make the connection.
If someone’s just starting a company and has a bootstrap budget what are your recommendations to make sure they get the brand correct from the beginning without being able to hire an external firm?
We sometimes have a new client that comes in and knows exactly what they want. They know exactly how they want their new company to look. And sometimes we have clients come in they just they don’t know and that’s can be a little bit more fun for us because we can explore those different avenues. Sometimes it’s just about doing research and figuring out you know what a client likes to see you know what they respond to doing our industry research to find out what’s effective out there at the time. So a lot of that really depends on the client.
